Soulful lyrics frequently accompanied by a melancholy twang, Lord Huron delivers mood enriching tunes.
Lord Huron is one of my favorite bands introduced to me by none other than my colleague Matt.
That's actually the case for much of the alternative/indie rock that first took root in my brain many years ago driving around college in his shitty, excuse me, charming, blue Saturn where I could barely fit in the passenger seat.
My wife and I especially love the track Ends of the Earth so much it was the song we danced to at our wedding. It wasn't until after the fact we realized it was also the final song in the closing scene of the show Community, which also happens to be our favorite show. Apparently we were not alone as when I was writing this up I saw many people in the comments on the song saying they also played it at their weddings. Clearly I can't have anything nice for myself and I am not as special as I thought.
Regardless, the music is what's most important here. Led by Ben Schneider's captivating voice their songs border the line of indie rock and folk with a dash of mystifying country thrown in there for good measure. They possess the rare ability of a band to make me stop in my tracks when their music comes on and simply sit and enjoy it. I'm always happy for the excuse to take a load off and do some self reflecting. Perhaps you'll experience the same.
